The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages by anyone under the age of 21 is prohibited. Community containers of alcohol are prohibited in any campus residence. Within Ball Residence Hall, alcohol containers of any kind, closed, open, or empty, are prohibited in all locations including students’ rooms (this includes beer can or liquor bottle collections, etc.). In the Campus Apartments and Town Homes, possession of alcohol by anyone under the age of 21 is prohibited. Alcohol may not be possessed or consumed in a lounge, stairwell or other residential common area. Alcohol may be possessed or consumed in a residential apartment where all assigned residents are 21 years or older. Alcohol may not be possessed or consumed in the presence of anyone under the age of 21.
To promote health, in accordance with the IUPUI Tobacco Policy, all campus housing facilities are smoke-free. Smoking is prohibited on or in IUPUI property.
State and federal laws prohibit the possession of and/or use of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. The possession, use, sale, distribution or cultivation of any type of illegal drug or substance such as, but not limited to, barbiturates, hallucinogens, marijuana, amphetamines or drug paraphernalia are prohibited in all university housing facilities. Violation of the drug policy may result in immediate removal from the campus residential facility.
Any violation of housing policies that occurs as a result of being under the influence of intoxicating or mind-altering substances can be grounds for dismissal from university housing, regardless of the seriousness of the violation.
